Food and Nutrition

At The Grange School, we want every child to develop practical, lifelong habits around food and nutrition. A balanced diet supports concentration in lessons, healthy growth, and wellbeing during the busy school years. For parents of secondary-age children, this means encouraging regular meals, sensible portion sizes, and a variety of foods from across the main food groups, including fruit and vegetables, starchy carbohydrates, protein sources, and dairy or dairy alternatives.

Most importantly, it should be that every child when they leave school has the knowledge and confidence to choose foods that support a healthy lifestyle. We aim to build strong foundations through education, practical reminders, and consistent messages about healthy eating. If you would like further support, our school can signpost resources and advice to help you work with your child to develop routines that fit school life and family schedules.
